Tanishq is the first and the largest jewelry retail brand in India known for exceptional craftsmanship, high-quality products, and excellent designs. It is owned by Titan Company which is backed by Tata Group and TIDCO.
The brand wanted to launch its polki-based wedding jewelry collection named Rivaah. Their media partner, Adfactor PR, suggested a press conference in the Metaverse for the launch and, as a Metaverse Platform Partner, Queppelin was their first choice.
Queppelin employed its GatherInVR platform to facilitate the press conference. It is a Metaverse development platform that enabled the creation of a virtual hall to hold the event. The virtual hall was set to accommodate visitors, display promotional boards and videos, display virtual 3D jewelry, etc.
Vossle team accomplished the feat of developing the 3D Virtual Try-On for each piece of jewelry in the collection. Vossle is a cloud-based SaaS platform developed by Queppelin which enables anyone to create an AR experience without any coding knowledge and experience. The participants could try this AR Jewelry through Vossle’s Tryon feature in real-time. This gave them the idea of the look of wearing real Tanishq jewelry.
Journalists from prominent media houses joined the press conference through their avatars to participate in the question-answer session. Vossle facilitated the creation of these 3D Avatars to participate in the event. These avatars matched their facial features, skin complexion, and their hairstyles bringing them close to reality.
The main challenge that awaited us was the creation of the virtual 3D model of each piece of jewelry in the collection. As Tanishq is a renowned brand, there were very clear and specific guidelines that we had to follow while designing the 3D model. The team had to create true-to-life inch-perfect dimension and exact appearance. It was important to give an exact look & feel of Tanishq’s New Polki collection to users if and when they tried the jewelry virtually.
The other challenge was to create a convergence of the Virtual venue created through the GatherInVR platform and AR Try-On functionality provided by Vossle. This was to allow the visitor to choose the jewelry in the VR setting of the press conference and try it out with the AR feature in physical reality.
The event was to be presented globally to thousands of journalists, dignitaries and celebrities. Thus, making sure that everything worked to the point and as per the plan catering to the needs of the visitors was of immense importance. Queppelin left no stone unturned to make it a success.
The project was being worked upon on three aspects by three different units. While Tanishq’s management including its CEO was supervising the whole process, Adfactor PR was carrying out the marketing & media management. Similarly, Queppelin focused on the technological & creative aspect of the project discussed in the case study. Hence, the coordination among these three units was of paramount importance.
The event attained great success. Attendees not only got awestruck by the mesmerizing jewelry collection but also got overwhelmed by the possibilities of the metaverse when it comes to conducting an event at such a level. There were many doubts that were cleared and questions that got answered through Queppelin’s dedicated endeavor.
